“I live on Wright Lane and I’ve talked to many of the neighbors there—and first, I want to just preface this and say, I do not hate the Polar Express. So, please, please, please do not send me hate mail,” Bourne resident Pauline Fogel said to the Select Board on November 18. “But around every October, my anxiety increases because I know what is coming.”
“What’s coming” is the Polar Express, the beloved and long-enjoyed train tour of Bourne themed after Chris Van Allsburg’s 1985 children’s book of the same name. Operated by the Cape Cod Central Railroad, the train departs from the depot on Main Street in Buzzards Bay and heads north to the “North Pole,” making a round trip back to the station. Each car features caroling, cookies and hot chocolate, accompanied by Santa and his elves—all set
