TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Grace Christian senior Jacob Elkins saw a need in his community. The two sport athlete helped organize a food drive in Cairo, raising money and collecting canned goods so families could have a good Thanksgiving meal this week.
Elkins makes things happen outside of sports, and this basketball season, he’s making things happen for the Cougars on the court.
“It’s a big responsibility,” he said of being a senior leader. “We have to keep each other accountable and keep pushing each week.”
“I always tell them, play like it’s your last,” added head coach Chris Williams. “He’s definitely done that since we’ve started.”
This being his senior year is motivation enough, but that bitter taste of a one point loss in last year’s Region Championship game doesn’t hurt either
