MINNEAPOLIS — The timing of this week's snowstorm was less than ideal, with several inches of snow falling just a day before Thanksgiving.
Lt. Mike Lee with the Minnesota State Patrol says during the first 24 hours after the snow event, state troopers have responded to nearly 400 crashes, nearly 500 vehicles off the road, 32 injuries, 18 spinouts and 42 jackknifed semis.
“It has been a busy 24 hours for us with a lot of crashes,” Lee said.
He expects Minnesotans who are driving home for Thanksgiving Wednesday night or Thursday morning may still come across a few slick spots on the road.
