WAILUKU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Community members rallied Wednesday to raise awareness about the dangers of drunk driving during the holiday season.

Her family has organized the memorial every year since she died in 2019.

Organizations, police officers, retired police officers, and loved ones of victims killed by drunk drivers gathered in front of the county building Wednesday, waving signs to remind drivers to drive safely and responsibly.

After the sign-waving, a press conference was held, and the Maui Police Department set up an Impaired Driving Awareness Checkpoint.
