HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A traffic alert as Hawaiian Electric performs emergency repairs on equipment in Waikiki next week.
On Monday, Dec. 1, crews will be repairing an electrical vault that will cause a day-long outage to traffic signals from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
A special-duty police officer will be on-site at the following intersections to assist with traffic control:
Ala Moana Boulevard and Hobron Lane, near the Discovery Bay Center
Kalakaua Avenue and Ena Road, near the Waikiki Landmark Condominium
Kalakaua Avenue and McCully Street, near the 7-Eleven convenience store
Ala Wai Boulevard and McCully Street
HECO said that due to the nature of the work, the traffic plan may be adjusted for the safety of the public and crews.
Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes or drive
