The family of a security guard who died after being stabbed by his housemate spoke of their anguish as an inquest into his death continued. Osagie Harrison Aimiyekagbon, known as 'Harry', was killed by Samuel Opokiti at the Levenshulme house they shared on Sunday 9, July 2023.

Police were called to the Rushmere Avenue property at around 8.45pm and found Mr Aimiyekagbon with multiple stab wounds. He died at the scene. Mr Opotiki was later diagnosed with schizophrenia and sectioned under the Mental Health Act.

Earlier this year Opokiti pleaded guilty to manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility and is expected to remain at Ashworth High Secure Hospital for the 'foreseeable future'.
