NEWPORT, Ore. — Rogue Ales & Spirits filed for bankruptcy Monday, listing more than $16.7 million in liabilities, court documents show.

The filing came two weeks after Rogue closed all operations Nov. 14, including its main brewery in Newport and its remaining pubs.

Oregon Brewing Company, Rogue's parent company, filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy. The liabilities include $510,000 in unpaid taxes to Lincoln County and a $47,000 bill for merchandise from Brewery Branding Company, according to court documents. The list spans 29 pages and includes a $10 million contested claim tied to a fatal DUII crash in Lincoln County three years ago.

After the closure, the Port of Newport, which leased space to the brewery, said Rogue owed about $500,000 in rent and back taxes.
