Preparing a meal for 750 people doesn’t happen overnight.

Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada has spent months preparing for today, sourcing items for its colossal Thanksgiving feast at the St. Vincent Lied Dining Facility since April, said Sara Ramirez, the group’s CEO.

Today marks the 60th consecutive year the organization will provide Thanksgiving meals to homeless and vulnerable people at the dining facility in downtown Las Vegas. When combined with its other food programs — Meals on Wheels and Hands of Hope Community Food Pantry — Catholic Charities will serve thousands of households across Southern Nevada this Thanksgiving, Ramirez said.
