Many train services are due to be disrupted in the first of four planned strikes in December, including CrossCountry train services between Glasgow and Edinburgh which will not be running that day.

The strike action is due to take place on December 6 and will see people in customer service roles, who are members of the RMT union, refusing to work. CrossCountry Trains have warned that all of their routes will be disrupted with the services between Glasgow and Edinburgh line being off completely.

Trains that do run are believed to be much busier than usual and services will also finish significantly earlier in the day so passengers are advised to plan their travel and return journeys carefully.
