BONDUEL, Wis. (WBAY) - A strong warning from the Bonduel fire chief not to record a crash scene when you’re driving by, because it’s not only dangerous, it’s illegal.

Fire Chief Kevin Lynch took to the department’s Facebook page to post the warning. He says people need to hear this.

In response to a video posted online, Lynch says to the person who recorded it, “You drove through an active crash scene with your phone up, recording it like it was a show.

“You forced first responders to shift their focus from the hazard zone to watch you. That shift creates risk for everyone on that scene.

Chief Lynch wants to remind drivers that by doing this, you slow traffic, miss instructions, clip cones, and distract the crews trying to keep the scene safe.
