A man has been charged with murder following the discovery of a 23 year old's body in a North East home. Emergency services were called to Allerton Close in Hartlepool on Sunday, where they found the body of Mohammed Shaan Ali Rasul, also known as Shaan.

Callum Howe, 22, was subsequently arrested and charged with murder in connection with the incident. On Thursday, Howe, from Blakelock Gardens, Hartlepool, appeared at Teesside Crown Court via video link from HMP Holme House.

Dressed in a grey jumper, he only spoke to confirm his personal details during the brief hearing.

Howe was not required to enter a plea and is due back in court for another hearing on F
