EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - A 30-year-old man from Evansville is spending Thanksgiving in jail after allegedly fleeing from a traffic stop overnight.
Around 4 a.m. Thursday, Evansville Police say they pulled over Dvonte Harris for speeding on Covert Avenue, just east of Green River Road.
During the stop, officers say they discovered Harris’ driver’s license was suspended.
Police say Harris sped off from the traffic stop after asking him and his passenger to step out of the car.
According to an affidavit, officers found Harris’ vehicle parked outside his apartment complex not long after the incident.
Officers ordered him out of the apartment and took him into custody.
Police say he ignored officers when asked why he fled the traffic stop.
