Syracuse, N.Y. - People traveling on Thanksgiving Day in Central New York can expect a mix of rain and snow before temperatures drop and the snow intensifies, according to the National Weather Service.
While snow is not expected to accumulate much on Thursday, it will hit hard on Friday and Saturday: Up to a foot of snow could pile up across the region while temperatures hover around 30 degrees.
Oswego and Onondaga counties are expected to get the most snow, with most areas getting 7 to 14 inches of snow.
Parts of Madison, Cayuga and Oneida counties will generally see less snow throughout the weekend, with 2 to 8 inches total expected.
There’s a chance of snow today along with a slight chance of rain in the late morning and early afternoon, according to weather service forecasts.
