Police called to reports of an ongoing burglary at a house in Redditch subsequently made a massive cannabis discovery in the early hours of this morning.

West Mercia Police said they responded to a disturbance following a 999 call at the property on Oakenshaw Road, in Greenlands, at around 3.30am today, Thursday, November 27.

Upon attending the address, officers then smelt the strong stench of cannabis.

Up to 40 plants – 15 to 20 mature and 20 immature – were found, mainly in the loft area.

A large amount of cash and drug paraphernalia was also found.
