Three residents have been fined for failing to help the council with enquiries into fly-tipping. The three Sunderland women now have court bills of over £1,000 each after they failed to assist council officers with their investigation, ignored warnings and failed to attend court.
South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court has heard how, between November 2024 and January of this year, there was an ongoing problem of fly-tipping in the Hendon area. Several of these incidents were captured on CCTV as part of an investigation by Sunderland City Council ’s Community Safety team.
