A police education scheme has reached more than 57,000 children in Suffolk in its first year.

Pol-Ed, launched in October 2024, aims to help children understand risks, citizenship, and the law better.

The initiative, originally developed by West Yorkshire Police, has been adopted by more than two-thirds of schools and education providers in Suffolk.

In its first year, more than 1,340 Pol-Ed lessons were delivered by teachers, reaching more than 39,000 students aged between four and 18.

A further 149 Pol-Ed geared assemblies were delivered by teaching staff and 332 Pol-Ed police inputs were delivered directly by police officers and PCSOs in schools, reaching more than 18,000 students.
