A new approach to preventing people from becoming homeless is to be piloted in one of Edinburgh 's most deprived communities.

The initiative, backed by £600,000 from the Scottish Government , will introduce new 'models of working' between the public and third sector to target those at risk of homelessness in Wester Hailes.

It is one of 15 projects sharing £4 million through a Homelessness Prevention Pilot Fund, administered by Advice Direct Scotland on behalf of the Scottish Government .
