Police have made an arrest in relation to the Motel 6 robbery that occurred on Monday when a suspect threatened a front desk clerk and demanded money.

Payton Wiles, 24, of Oroville, was allegedly identified and arrested on Wednesday after officers reviewed surveillance video, according to a press release issued by the Chico Police Department.

After investigating, officers determined Wiles was “likely in Plumas County” and contacted the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office to aid in making an arrest.

Wiles was found in Quincy and ultimately transported to the Butte County Jail.
