EXETER – The manager of the Exeter Community Food Bank is expressing her thanks to the community for supporting the recent food drive in South Huron.
Held Saturday, Nov. 22, the food drive saw volunteers with South Huron’s fire department and members of First Exeter Scouts canvass neighbourhoods in Exeter, Crediton, Centralia, Dashwood and Huron Park to collect donations at the curb.

“It went really well,” said food bank manager Laurie Clapp, estimating that at least six pickup trucks’ worth of donations were collected. While the food drive couldn’t be promoted through flyers this year because of the Canada Post job action, Clapp said supporters were really good about running out to make donations when they heard the sirens from the fire trucks.
