DETROIT, Va. (WDBJ) - Roanoke’s Zach Horton was elevated from the Detroit Lions practice squad and is expected to play in his first career NFL game against the Green Bay Packers on Thursday, November 27, 2025, according to the Detroit Lions.
Born in Roanoke, Horton attended Northvale and Lord Botetourt High Schools in Daleville where he was rated as a three-star prospect by 247sports, according to the Lions.
Horton played tight end at James Madison University for three seasons from 2021-2023 and made First-Team All-Sun Belt with a career total of 40 receptions for 434 yards receiving and eight touchdowns receiving.
