Gov. Henry McMaster is deploying more than 300 South Carolina National Guardsmen back to Washington D.C. next week — but not as a response to the recent Capitol shooting.
McMaster announced the plan in a social media post that condemned the shooting of two National Guard members from West Virginia on Wednesday, who were shot just blocks away from the White House.
“Tonight we lift up in prayer the families of the brave WV Guardsmen who were shot in defense of freedom,” McMasters posted to X. “We are a nation created and sustained by God fearing - law abiding people. Lawlessness will not stand.”
