On Thursday at 2:54 p.m. a lake effect snow warning was released by the National Weather Service in effect until Friday at 7 p.m. for Mercer County.
The weather service adds to be ready for, "Heavy lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations between 4 and 8 inches. Totals may be locally higher within the most intense parts of the snow band. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph."
"Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions will impact Thanksgiving and Black Friday travel," explains the weather service. "If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions can be obtained by calling 5 1 1."
