LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - More than 3,000 runners took to Keeneland Thursday for the 42nd annual Thoroughbred Classic 5K.
The Thanksgiving Day tradition drew 3,300 participants despite cold weather.
“Something about it brings joy to my heart,” said runner Finn Leek.
The event raises money for local charities and has grown in popularity over the years, according to organizers with Bluegrass Runners.
“It’s wild just to see the turnout from last year to this year growing as much as it has,” said Mike Kennard, a board member with Bluegrass Runners.
