COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Volunteers gathered early Thursday morning to prepare, pack and deliver Thanksgiving meals to families in need in the Chattahoochee Valley.

The “Big Gobble”, Feeding the Valley’s 6th annual Thanksgiving morning tradition, aims to prepare traditional holiday meals to families and individuals in the 18 counties the food bank serves.

“We will provide over 5,300 traditional Thanksgiving meals for people in need, 1500 of those meals go out hot today,” said Frank Sheppard, President and CEO of Feeding the Valley Food Bank. “A lot of them have been delivered frozen in the, in the past week. So this is a opportunity to give a nice Thanksgiving meal to those less fortunate and otherwise might not have that opportunity.”
