SCRANTON, Pa. — It's a yearly tradition for folks at Green Ridge Assembly of God in Scranton .

For more than a decade, the church has served a free Thanksgiving meal on Thanksgiving Day to anyone looking for a warm meal and some company.

It all started when two people from the church began serving meals because their families worked on the holiday. They wanted to give people a place to enjoy a warm meal with others if they have no place to go.

Organizer Jane Ward says once the two left the church, she wanted to continue serving meals.

According to Ward, nearly 300 people enjoy the church's Thanksgiving feast every year.

Volunteers at the church spend all morning prepping the meal, which consists of your typical Thanksgiving favorites: Turkey, Ham, homemade mashed potatoes, corn, swe
