CHICOPEE — The Chicopee Comp Colts (9-2) retain the Sword for the 11th straight year with a 41-12 victory over their cross-town rival the Chicopee High Pacers (6-5), on Thanksgiving Day from the grounds of a sold out and prideful Szot Park.
With Thursday’s victory, Comp is now 8-0 overall series-wise against Chicopee on Thanksgiving since the switch was made to have the game played on the national holiday. Reflecting on the achievement for the Colts was Chicopee Mayor John Vieau, who also bestowed equal respect and sportmanship to both teams.
“Emotions are currently running high, but make no mistake both teams should be proud of their efforts, as Chicopee High put up a valiant effort by leaving everything out on the field, and Chicopee Comp is taking the Sword back home, and don’t forget
