A man has been shot dead in Sydney's west with two people arrested after a police chase.

A man has died after a brazen daylight shooting in Sydney's west, with two suspects now in custody after a dramatic police chase.

Emergency services rushed to Carinya Street in Blacktown at around 11.50am on Friday (November 28) following reports of gunfire. Officers discovered a man suffering gunshot wounds to his neck, chest and leg.

Despite desperate efforts by NSW Ambulance paramedics to save him, the victim tragically died at the scene .

As medical teams worked to help the injured man, police spotted a Mazda utility fleeing the area. Officers gave chase, but the vehicle failed to stop and eventually crashed on Kildare Road.
