Young people without jobs are set to be given a Department for Work and Pensions ( DWP ) benefits ultimatum under new rules from the Labour Party government.

Labour Party Chancellor Rachel Reeves wants to cut the welfare bill with a Youth Guarantee scheme to stop them going onto a life on the dole.

The chancellor’s latest Budget includes details on how the scheme will run. Young adults who have been on Universal Credit and looking for work for 18 months will be offered a guaranteed six-month paid work placement.
