A woman tragically died after she tripped over a speed bump in a car park.

Elizabeth Bury suffered broken ribs in the incident and struck her head on the kerb after falling on Tape Street car park in Cheadle.

Sadly, the 89-year-old retired farmer was pronounced dead at the scene in February last year.

An inquest ruled that Elizabeth, of Wilton Avenue, Cellarhead, 'died from complications following a fall', and the coroner raised concerns over the speed bump.

Staffordshire Moorlands District Council has since resurfaced the car park, StokeonTrentLive reports.
