PARAMUS — For most of his life, Evan Toth has had a deep passion for vinyl. The North Jersey native cherishes days spent in New York City record shops with his father, and the hours he whiled away amid the bins of the old Sam Goody store at Garden State Plaza .
Little did he know that years later, he would be the one helping people make their own musical memories at the very same mall.
This fall, Toth opened The Sharp Notes music store at Garden State Plaza. In addition to vintage vinyl, the shop sells CDs, music-related books, T-shirts and turntables.
Opening any business can be scary. Opening a record store in an era where the vast majority of people get their tunes digitally sounds downright terrifying.
