BRANDON, Vt. (WCAX) - The town of Brandon has a thriving art scene, and this holiday, there’s a new way for locals to access works of art made by local artists.

It might look just like your normal vending machine with all the usual bells and whistles, but instead of dispensing candy and chips, what you get might be a bit more colorful.

Leicester-based arist Caitlin Gildrien made one of the more interesting impulse purchases well before black Friday.

“I really love the idea if you can have something where you can go to a space and push a button and it goes kachunk, and a piece of something somebody made falls into your hands,” said Gildrien.

She bought and hauled a 700-pound vending machine to her garage after spying it on Facebook Marketplace in the Lake George area.
