For the past 12 years the Porterville Rescue Mission (PRM) has prepared and delivered between 300 to 400 Thanksgiving meals to the homeless and families in need throughout the Porterville area, said Jennifer Burtram, Fred Beltran, Bobby Lackey, and Susan Uptain.

Beltran and Uptain drove their cars packed with hundreds of meals for delivery with help from PRM associates, as well as two other drivers making deliveries on Wednesday, November 26.

Burtram said they started cooking eight turkeys at 2 am at the Rescue Mission kitchen and prepped stuffing, green beans, mashed potatoes, gravy, bread and a cookie. Some of the food is donated and PRM staff purchase the rest. The mission has a staff of 10.
