Blue Rock Golf Course in South Yarmouth raised $2,000 in cash and more than $1,500 in food and in-kind donations for the Cape & Islands Veterans Outreach Center at its 20th annual Turkey Shoot-Out and Food Pantry Drive on November 22.

The center’s pantry in Hyannis has become a food lifeline for hundreds of veterans and their families who are facing food insecurity. Barnstable County has the highest percentage of veterans in Massachusetts and the largest number of veterans over the age of 65 in the state. Approximately 700 families were served by the center’s food pantry during the Thanksgiving holiday.
