Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority’s new administrator, John Kennedy, who is the former president of the Cape Cod Central Railroad, has some big shoes to fill. His predecessor, Tom Cahir, led CCRTA for many years with enthusiasm, energy and outreach skills that will be hard to match.
Among the many things Tom did as CCRTA head was to send Falmouth an annual ridership report for inclusion in the town report. It paints an interesting picture of the different transportation services the CCRTA offers and how many Falmouth residents utilize these services, now and in the past.
CCRTA is governed by an advisory board with one member from each Cape town. Originally all select board members, it is now made up of mostly town administrators or their designees, and only two select board members. Fa
