Chancellor Rachel Reeves announced a mansion tax during the Autumn Budget, which will be introduced on properties worth more than £2 million, the Office for Budget Responsibility (OPR)'s report has revealed.

To enforce these rules, the Labour Party government will deploy "spy" satellites on high-value properties targeted by its punitive council tax surcharge, The Telegraph has reported.

The Valuation Office Agency (VOA) will use aerial photography to help determine the value of the most expensive properties in England.

This data will be used to slap UK households with yearly tax bills of up to £7,500 where a house's value exceeds £5m.
