DETROIT, MI – An exciting weekend of high school state championship football will kick off with a No. 1 vs. No. 1 matchup Friday morning at Ford Field.

Harbor Beach (13-0) and Hudson (13-0) finished the regular season tied for the top spot in the Division 8 state rankings , so it’s only fitting that the weekend’s first state championship game will feature the two schools in a battle of unbeatens. Kickoff is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.

Harbor Beach is playing in its third state final, with the most recent appearance coming in 2012, when the Pirates defeated Beal City, 35-10, to win a Division 8 championship. The program also reached the Class C state final in 1991, when it lost to Muskegon Catholic Central, 34-0.
