MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) - Vermont Fish and Wildlife is offering Scats and Tracks for its sixth season, a free, four-week virtual program for K through 8 classrooms.

The program teaches kids about wildlife in the state through outdoor exploration.

Each week, students watch a short video. Then, teachers lead outdoor hikes to find signs of animals like gray fox, beaver, gray squirrel and eastern wild turkey.

On Thursdays, kids can participate in an optional Q&A with a wildlife biologist.

Educators must register by Dec. 15. The program begins the week of Jan. 4.
