Zootopia 2 has broken another record before its first full weekend in theaters even begins. 2025's Zootopia 2 is a sequel to a 2016 Disney movie that grossed more than $1 billion in theaters.

The new movie, which debuted on Wednesday, November 26 ahead of American Thanksgiving, also seems on track to hit that milestone after earning the second-best domestic box office previews for a Disney animated movie ever, behind the 2024 smash hit Moana 2 .

Per Variety , Zootopia 2 has taken in $34 million during its opening day in China. This marks the highest-grossing single-day haul for any U.S. animated movie in the territory .
