Person seriously hurt after being hit by train near station View Image
A person who was struck by a train near a railway station has suffered potentially life-changing injuries.
At around 12.45pm, the British Transport Police (BTP) were called to the railway near Yate railway station.
Great Western Railway (GWR) said that a person was struck and that all trains between Bristol Parkway and Gloucester were immediately halted.
Emergency services attended the incident and a person was taken to hospital.
The person has suffered potentially life-changing injuries.
BTP said the incident is not thought to be suspicious.
A spokesperson for BTP said: "Officers were called to a report of a casualty on the tracks at 12.45pm today (Friday, November 28) near Yate railway station.
