CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Lake effect snow is continuing across Northeast Ohio on Friday morning, though conditions have improved enough for forecasters to cancel and downgrade some winter weather alerts.

The National Weather Service Cleveland canceled the winter weather advisory for Lorain County early Friday morning after snowfall rates diminished and impacts remained minimal outside of lingering slick spots.

Lake County’s lake effect snow warning was downgraded to a winter weather advisory after the area missed the majority of snowfall during the event, though light to moderate snow may still produce slick conditions.

Today, inland areas across Northeast Ohio are expected to see most of the snowfall, which will fall at a rate of about a half-inch per hour or less, with some areas seeing up
