Stabbing

On the evening of Nov. 17, members of the Hanover Police Service responded to a violent incident at a residence on 6th Avenue. The investigation determined that a 21-year-old Hanover man was consuming alcohol inside a residence with family members and friends when he became intoxicated and made repeated threats to kill those present. An argument turned physical, and he attacked a family member, stabbing an adult male victim twice before fleeing the scene on foot. The victim was transported to hospital, treated for two stab wounds and later released. Police located the 21-year-old walking on 7th Avenue within a few hours of the disturbance, at which time he was taken into custody without further incident.
