Fifteen years after a California woman went missing from Sacramento County, a Maryville man believed to be connected to her disappearance is in custody.

Back in July 2010, family and friends reported Lynda Haynie missing. The local sheriff's office says they investigated, but never located her.

At the beginning of 2025, though, detectives obtained new information that turned the search into a homicide investigation.

One of the suspects is Jonathan Simpson, a Maryville resident.

Detectives with the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office joined the Monroe County Sheriff's Office to serve a warrant for his arrest at his home on Wednesday, November 12.

Simpson is charged with murder and criminal conspiracy. Deputies booked him into the Monroe County Jail, then later extradited him to Californ
