(AP) - Mercedes-Benz Stadium could host more World Cup soccer if the United States, Costa Rica, Jamaica and Mexico win their bid for the 2031 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Atlanta was named one of 14 possible American host stadiums for the tournament. The combined bid is currently the only bid for the tournament.
The 2026 U.S. sites included in the 2031 proposal are:

Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta
MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey
NRG Stadium in Houston; SoFi Stadium
Inglewood, California
Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City
Lumen Field in Seattle.
Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte
Empower Field in Denver
U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis
Geodis Park in Nashville
Camping World Stadium in Orlando
