ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Starting at 10 a.m. Thanksgiving morning, Hosea Helps handed out its Thanksgiving food boxes.
The first car was in line to receive its box at 9 p.m. Wednesday.
This marks the 55th year Hosea Helps has hosted a Thanksgiving Day food giveaway and those who received boxes of food say the generosity means everything.
“This right here will help out a lot,” said Kathie White, who lined up with her grandson.
Hosea Helps says it has seen more need than ever this year, as Atlantans continue to struggle in the aftermath of the pause on SNAP benefits and changes to those benefits.
