The National Weather Service issued a report at 3:59 p.m. on Friday for lake effect snow until 5 p.m. for Herkimer, Fulton, Montgomery, Schoharie, Schenectady, Saratoga, Albany, Rensselaer and Columbia counties.
"At 3:59 p.m., a lake effect snow band was near Averill Park, or 8 miles southeast of Troy moving east at 30 MPH," comments the weather service.
This includes the following highways: Interstate 88 between exits 20 and 25. Interstate 90 between exits 10 and 30. Interstate 890 between exits 1a and 9. Interstate 87 between exits 21A and 7, and between exits 8A and 9. Interstate 787 between exits 1 and 9.
Expect lake effect snow in the following locations:
Berlin around 4:05 p.m.
New Ashford around 4:20 p.m.
North Adams and Adams around 4:30 p.m.
Cheshire around 4:35 p.m.
