On Wednesday at 12:51 p.m. a lake effect snow warning was released by the National Weather Service valid from Friday 1 a.m. until Saturday 7 a.m. for Wayne and Cayuga counties.
The weather service adds, "Heavy lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations 7 to 12 inches in the most persistent lake snows. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph will produce blowing and drifting snow."
"Travel will be very difficult with deep snow cover on roads and poor visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact Thanksgiving holiday travel," explains the weather service. "Heavy snow will fall in relatively narrow bands. If traveling, be prepared for rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities."
