EastEnders star Jake Wood has teased that Max Branning is in ‘a lot of trouble’ ahead of the BBC soap’s historic episode.

Viewers were delighted to see the return of the notorious womaniser earlier in the year after four years away from the streets of Walford. Max had not been seen since 2021, when his affair with Linda Carter was exposed and Danny Dyer’s Mick Carter was after him.

It was quickly revealed through a flashback sequence that Max was having an affair with Stacey Slater’s cousin Zoe earlier in the year in spite of their turbulent history together. Zoe and Max’s unison was cut short when she accidentally stole £5,000 from him, after she was assaulted by a Private Investigator.

Max later landed in Walford without an invitation to his daughter Lauren Branni
