The silence has been deafening and embarrassing.

It sure would be a nice gesture for Prime Minister Mark Carney to extend condolences to President Donald Trump and the American people for the terror attack that took the life of one American soldier and left a second clinging to life.

As of late Friday – two days after the attack on the eve of the U.S. Thanksgiving – neither Carney, our head of state King’s representative Governor General Mary Simon, nor Canada’s ambassador to the United States Kirsten Hillman had conveyed this country’s deepest sympathies to our beloved neighbour or the families of the victims.
