The Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union says locals have reported receiving calls from scammers pretending to be from the TVFCU Fraud Department.
The bank says these criminals can spoof their phone number to make it appear as though TVFCU is calling.
Scammers typically ask victims for online banking credentials or full debit card information.
"TVFCU will never call and ask for your online banking login information or your full card number," the bank said. "If you believe you have fallen victim to this scam, please contact your credit union or bank immediately."
If you receive a call that appears to be from TVFCU and want to verify it is legitimate, hang up and call them directly at 423-634-3600.
