Jersey City Mall Evacuated For Several Hours (DEVELOPING)

A popular Jersey City mall was evacuated Saturday night, Nov. 29, one of the busiest nights of the year for retail.

Photos shared by HudPost show a major police presence at the Newport Centre Mall, with shoppers flooding the sidewalks and the street outside of Macy's and the Cheesecake Factory.

According to HudPost, law enforcement officials were called to the mall for a suspicious package. Daily Voice has reached out to city officials for confirmation.

The all-clear was given around 8 p.m.
